Leaders are Readers!

Growing up, I wasn’t much of a reader.  I really didn’t start to become an avid reader until I began my business over 18 years ago.  I love to read now and I spend most of my time reading personal development and leadership books.
I have also found through trial and error that I prefer the actual book rather than the kindle version.  That makes for a very, very full bookshelf!
Here are 10 of my favorites and a one sentence takeaway.  (It was hard to only pick 10 and to keep it to only one sentence!)
  1.  Visioneering by Andy Stanley – “Without a vision, the people will perish.”
  2. The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson – It’s easy to do and its easy not to do, so just do it!
  3. Girl, Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis – Work hard and be YOU!
  4. 100 Days to Brave by Annie Downes – Speaking kindly to yourself will make you brave.
  5. 7 Levels of Communication by Michael Maher – Be the person that connects people to each other.
  6. Go for No by Richard Fenton – Let the customer end the sale.
  7. Chase the Lion by Mark Batterson – “Let us not become weary of doing good, for in the proper time a harvest will be reaped if we do not give up.
  8. Draw the Circle by Mark Batterson – God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called.
  9. Addicted to Busy- Do not get in this race of seeing who can be the busiest.
  10. Chop Wood, Carry Water by Joshua Medcalf- Fall in love with the process of becoming great.
I encourage you to become a reader.  The best thing we can do to grow and learn is to read.  If you are not someone who likes to read then listen to books.  Audible is a great resource for listening to books.  Don’t make excuses as to why you can’t or don’t have time to read, instead make a plan to fit a little bit of reading or listening into your day!

Grateful for you,
Theresa
